‘By divine grace, the NDC received a double portion of that for which we prayed’- Sammy Gyamfi

Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has shared an uplifting New Year message, offering warm season’s greetings to party members, sympathisers, and stakeholders while expressing profound gratitude for the collective efforts that led to the party’s resounding victory in 2024.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on January 1, 2025, Gyamfi highlighted that the NDC entered 2024 with an unwavering resolve to bring about transformative change for Ghana, and the people’s mandate was received with “divine grace.” Reflecting on the successful outcome of the elections, he declared, “By divine grace, the NDC received a double portion of that for which we prayed.”

Gyamfi also took the opportunity to thank key individuals who played critical roles in ensuring the NDC’s victory, from loyal deputies to party leaders.

He expressed heartfelt appreciation for his deputies, Maleek Basintale and Ako Gunn, whose unwavering support helped drive the party’s communications strategy forward.

“To my sixteen industrious regional communication officers and their deputies: your ingenuity and relentless efforts are deeply appreciated,” Gyamfi continued, emphasising the hard work of the NDC’s grassroots communicators across the country.

He also acknowledged the critical role played by the social media army and media monitors, who worked tirelessly to push the NDC’s message of hope to every corner of Ghana.

Furthermore, Gyamfi extended gratitude to the leadership of the NDC, including the National Chairman, General Secretary, and Parliamentary Caucus, for their ongoing support of the National Communications Bureau.

He also thanked the party’s benefactors and members of the National Strategic Communication Committee for providing strategic guidance that helped ensure the party’s success.

Special mentions were made of President-elect John Dramani Mahama, whom Gyamfi described as an inspirational leader who provided “fatherly guidance” throughout the campaign, as well as Vice President-elect Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang for her unwavering support.

To the media—both traditional and new—Gyamfi expressed his gratitude for providing the NDC with the necessary platforms to communicate its message of hope, which was embraced by a vast majority of Ghanaians.

He acknowledged that the NDC’s relationship with the media would continue to flourish in the coming year, with a shared goal of “resetting Ghana.”

As the NDC steps into 2025, Gyamfi encouraged the party’s members and supporters to reflect on the divine victory they achieved together, emphasising the need for unity and continued dedication to the party’s vision of transformation.

“On this first day of the New Year, I wish to express, on behalf of the National Communication Bureau, my heartfelt appreciation to all members of our great party for their contributions to our success,” he concluded, invoking the phrase, “Ebenezer, thus far the Lord has brought us!”

He also wished the entire NDC family a prosperous New Year, expressing hope that the Lord would grant them the grace to accomplish their shared mission for Ghana.

Warm season’s greetings and best wishes for a prosperous New Year from the National Communications Bureau of the great National Democratic Congress (NDC) to all members and sympathisers of the umbrella family.

We commenced 2024 with an unwavering resolve to bring about a transformative change for Ghana, our beloved country.

Through our collective efforts and earnest appeal to the Ghanaian populace, we sought their mandate to realise this vision. By divine grace, the NDC received a double portion of that for which we prayed. Let us once again congratulate ourselves and rejoice in the Lord for this divine victory.

As we embrace 2025, we proclaim, “Ebenezer, thus far the Lord has brought us!” On this first day of the new year, I wish to express, on behalf of the National Communication Bureau that I lead, heartfelt appreciation and honour to the following individuals.

Firstly, to my loyal and dedicated deputies, Maleek Basintale and Ako Gunn: your unwavering support and dynamism are highly commendable. To my sixteen (16) industrious regional communication officers and their deputies: your ingenuity and relentless efforts are deeply appreciated.

My sincere thanks to our gallant 276 constituency communication officers, their able deputies, and branch communication officers across the country.

Comrades, as devoted foot soldiers, you disseminated our message of hope to every nook and cranny, ensuring a resounding victory for our party. To the committed and diligent members of our National and Regional Communication Teams: your tireless and invaluable contributions will never be forgotten. To the dedicated and hard-working members of our social media army and media monitors, the narrative of our success is incomplete without acknowledging your daily toil and sacrifices towards our common cause.

To the members of the National Strategic Communication Committee: your strategic guidance and technical support have been extremely instrumental in how far we have come as a team.

I extend heartfelt appreciation to the National Chairman, General Secretary, Parliamentary Caucus, and the entire leadership of the NDC for their support for the National Communications Bureau in all our endeavours.

To the President-elect, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, Sir, we are eternally grateful for your inspiration, fatherly guidance, and sterling leadership that guided us to this historic victory.

To our mother and Ghana’s first female Vice President-elect, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, thank you for your support in numerous ways.
