A-Plus Expresses Desire to Align with NDC in the 9th Parliament

Kwame Asare Obeng, the newly elected Independent Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, has expressed a clear preference for aligning with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), despite ongoing discussions with both the NPP and NDC regarding his political future in Ghana’s upcoming Parliament.

In a Facebook post shared on Monday, 6th January 2025, A-Plus revealed that both major political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the NDC, had made offers to collaborate with him as he navigates his path in Parliament. While both parties have presented compelling reasons for his support, A-Plus emphasised that his heart leans toward the NDC.

A-Plus confirmed that the NPP, led by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, had officially approached him with an intriguing offer. The NPP promised not to contest the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat in the 2028 election should he choose to align with them. This gesture, he noted, demonstrated the party’s serious intent to secure his cooperation.

However, despite the NPP’s proposal, A-Plus made it clear that his personal inclination is towards the NDC. The party, with which he shares deep roots, has also invited him for a meeting, underscoring their interest in securing his support for the future.

“I have friends in both the NPP and NDC, and I genuinely wish to align with the NDC,” A-Plus stated. “Deep down, my heart leans toward the NDC, but I will ultimately side with whoever has my interest at heart and provides the best offer for me and the people of Gomoa Central.”
