President-elect John Dramani Mahama has appointed Augustus Goosie Tanoh as the presidential advisor for 24-hour economy and accelerated export development.
This appointment forms part of a broader announcement of key personnel chosen for positions within the Office of the President, set to take effect on January 7, 2025.
In a statement by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, special aide to Mahama, the 24-Hour Economy initiative was described as one of the flagship policy proposals of the President-elect’s campaign. It aims to maximise the country’s economic potential by extending operational hours for businesses and services.
“A 24-hour economy will unlock Ghana’s full potential by increasing flexibility for accessing goods and services while creating more job opportunities, especially for those who prefer or are available to work during non-traditional hours,” the statement noted.
