AUDIO: Minority demands clarity on GHC95 million judgement debt to West Blue

The Minority in Parliament is requesting thorough explanations of the events leading up to a judgement debt of GHC95 million awarded against Ghana in favour of West Blue, a former port technical service provider for the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). Following West Blue’s contract termination by the government, this occurs.

The substantial sum was revealed by GRA Director Julie Essiam during a Public Accounts Committee hearing. Nonetheless, committee member Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed maintains that the government needs to provide an explanation for this payment and reveal the legal defence tactics used prior to the ruling.

Strongly implying that the judgement debt seems to be a case of “create, loot, and share,” Mr. Mohammed calls on the government to be transparent and accountable in this regard.
