The Former Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan has been appointed by the Flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lead it’s manifesto committee on Youth and Sports.
Asamoah Gyan who is Ghana’s all-time top scorer has been spotted several times under NPP programs and Parliament.
In a recent interview, the Parliamentary Candidate for Akuapem North, Sammi Awuku urged Ghanaians to watch out for Asamoah Gyan.
In his view, the Ghanaian football legend should not be underestimated because he has brilliant ideas to revive Ghana’s ailing sports sector.
Mr. Awuku made this known on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, February 8, after Asamoah Gyan was spotted at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s recent address on Wednesday, February 7.
Asamoah Gyan’s committee shall be responsible for undertaking a holistic review of the party’s 2016 and 2020 manifestos and engaging all relevant stakeholders to come up with a pragmatic 2024 manifesto.
The Manifesto Committee is further charged to discharge mandate effectively and professionally to produce a comprehensive manifesto document that can stand the test of time to address the legitimate concerns and socio-economic challenges of Ghanaians.
