MTN South Africa makes SuperFlex plans permanent with unlimited calls and data

MTN South Africa has solidified its SuperFlex plans as a permanent offering, providing subscribers with unlimited local calls, SMS, and flexible data options. Originally launched in 2023 as a promotional deal, SuperFlex now stands as a core SIM-only plan with no need for contracts, paperwork, or credit checks.

Starting at roughly $15 per month, SuperFlex includes unlimited calling and texting, along with data plans beginning at 10GB. MTN’s new structure allows customers to adjust or cancel their plans at any time directly through the MTN app.

Additionally, MTN has integrated embedded SIM (eSIM) technology, making it easier for customers to activate service immediately without needing a physical SIM.

The eSIM can be activated in minutes using MTN’s self-registration feature, and a new payment facility is available for users who want to spread the cost of a smartphone over time.

SuperFlex plans include:
10GB for around $15 per month,
15GB for approximately $20 per month,
20GB for about $25 per month.

Each package includes unlimited calls and SMS.

Vodacom, MTN’s main competitor, has responded with its own flexible option, PowerFlex, which offers unlimited calls and texts along with 17GB for about $23 monthly or 22GB for around $30.

This move by Vodafone emphasises the growing demand for flexible, contract-free mobile plans with substantial data allowances.
