Full Document: Akufo Addo releases full report of KPMG audit on GRA-SML contract

The full KPMG audit report on the contentious contract between Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has been made public by President Akufo-Addo.

Following weeks of demands for accountability and openness regarding the specifics and implementation of the contract, this release has been made.

With an initial deadline of January 16, 2024, which was later extended until February 23, 2024, the President commissioned KPMG to audit the contract on January 2.

The audit findings show that SML partially complied with its duties and received GH¢1,061,054,778.00 in total from 2018 to the present.

The downstream petroleum sector has seen a rise in revenue as a result of SML’s operations, according to the report.

SML has refuted obtaining GH¢1,061,054,778.00 for its contract with the GRA, claiming that KPMG quoted the amount “without reference to the investments made and the taxes paid,” in contrast to what the audit report indicates.

The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) filed a Right to Information (RTI) request on May 8th, but the President denied it. The MFWA sought access to the complete KPMG audit report.

Below is the full KPMG report as published by the Presidency:
