2024 Election: Strict procedures implemented to prevent data mistakes – EC

The Electoral Commission (EC), led by Deputy Commissioner in Charge of Operations Samuel Tetteh, has declared that the commission has reorganized the group in charge of creating infographics.

He said that in order to ensure the accuracy of the data shared with the public, the commission has put stricter guidelines into place when creating infographics.

This disclosure follows the discovery of mistakes in several of the commission’s publicly available data on voters who have registered to vote.

Mr. Tetter stated, “The commission has since made changes to the team charged with the responsibility of preparing the infographics,” during a press briefing on Tuesday in Accra.

“Additionally, we have put in place more rigorous methods in the preparation of the infographics to ensure that what is presented to the public is accurate.”

He also apologized to political parties, stakeholders, and the general public for the errors in the infographics published during the first 11 days of the registration exercise.
