The Coalition of GaDangme Pressure Groups has called on authorities to ensure fairness and transparency in the ongoing dispute between McDan Aviation and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), warning that the controversy could undermine investor confidence in Ghana.
In a statement read at a press conference, the coalition said the dispute over the termination of McDan Aviation’s licence at the private jet terminal of Kotoka International Airport raises broader concerns about the protection of indigenous investments.
“This matter goes beyond a simple contractual disagreement; it raises critical national questions about investor confidence, fairness, and the protection of indigenous enterprise in Ghana,” the coalition said.

The group noted that the private aviation facility was developed after operations were relocated to Terminal 3, leaving the previous terminal underutilised.
“With an investment running into several millions of dollars, the company transformed the facility into Ghana’s first private fixed-base operator terminal,” the statement added, emphasising that the project was intended to support business aviation and strengthen Ghana’s position as a regional hub for executive travel.
The coalition further highlighted that publicly available information indicates McDan Aviation largely met its financial obligations under the licence agreement.
“Information available to the public indicates that McDan Aviation honoured its rental obligations under the licence agreement for several years,” the statement said.
However, the group expressed concern over recent developments at the facility.
“Particularly disturbing are reports that equipment belonging to the company was removed from the premises shortly after a court injunction had reportedly been served on the airport authority,” it added.
While acknowledging that the courts will ultimately determine the legal merits of the case, the coalition stressed the importance of safeguarding investor confidence.
“If Ghanaian investors begin to feel unsafe or vulnerable in their own country, the consequences for national development could be significant,” the group warned, urging authorities to handle the matter with fairness and respect for due process to maintain confidence among both local and foreign investors.
