Dancehall star Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has been granted bail of GH₵10 million with two sureties after two days of questioning by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The musician was released on Thursday, August 21, 2025, following investigations into his ownership of a yellow 2019 Lamborghini Urus flagged in an international fraud case.
His manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, confirmed the development, adding that the legal team was finalising arrangements to meet the bail conditions.

According to EOCO, the probe focuses on tax obligations related to the luxury vehicle and the operations of Shatta Wale’s company.
The artist voluntarily reported to EOCO’s headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, August 20, accompanied by his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, before being detained overnight.
The Lamborghini, seized from Shatta Wale’s residence at Trassaco Valley in June 2025, has been identified by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) as linked to financial crimes committed by Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian serving a prison term in the United States.
The vehicle is currently in EOCO’s custody and is expected to be repatriated to the U.S. as part of a $4.7 million restitution order against Amuah.
EOCO confirmed that Shatta Wale and a former senior official of the National Signal Bureau remain persons of interest in the joint Ghana–U.S. investigation and may be recalled for further questioning.
Meanwhile, the artiste’s management has urged fans to remain calm, expressing confidence in the judicial process.
