As it returns to 4YFN 2025, the premier global startup event running alongside the Mobile World Congress from March 3-6 in Barcelona, Wayra reaffirms its commitment to fuelling disruptive technologies and fostering groundbreaking collaborations between entrepreneurs, investors, and corporations.
Since its inception, Wayra has emerged as a driving force in open innovation, having collaborated with over 400 startups that have collectively generated more than €1.06 billion in revenues for Telefónica and €615 million for the startups themselves.

The €245 million deployed across its portfolio highlights its strategic focus on high-impact ventures spanning artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, Web3, telecommunications, and beyond.
With an active portfolio of more than 1,100 startups, Wayra’s ecosystem remains one of the most diverse and influential in the global tech landscape. Its investments have not only propelled early-stage ventures into industry-leading companies but also facilitated corporate-startup synergies, allowing innovative solutions to scale efficiently across markets.
At this year’s 4YFN, Wayra will host more than 30 of its top portfolio startups at its dedicated stand. These startups, spanning AI, fintech, IoT, and digital transformation, will showcase their innovations and explore partnerships with potential investors and business leaders.
Among the key sessions, Chema Alonso, Chief Digital Officer at Telefónica, will deliver a speech titled ‘Level 101: Things yet “TU” to be Created’ on March 4. Another major highlight will be the ‘Founder Series: AI, Collaboration, and Innovation with Perplexity and Wayra,’ featuring Irene Gómez, CEO of Wayra, and Ryan Foutty, VP of Business at Perplexity. This session will explore the role of AI-powered startups in reshaping industries, addressing ethical concerns, and fostering sustainable growth.
