In an emotional interview with Emelia Brobbey on the Okukuseku Show, the actress broke down in uncontrollable tears, expressing deep pain over the false accusations leveled against her.

“Life became very difficult after my mother’s demise. To make things worse, hearing rumors that I killed her was extremely painful. I kept wondering how people could say such terrible things about me.”
She questioned why people would assume she was capable of such an act simply because of her fame.
“I asked myself—was I that bad? If I wasn’t popular, would people have still spread such rumors about me?” she lamented.
The intense public scrutiny took a severe toll on the young actress, leading her to withdraw from her social circle. She disclosed that even some of her closest friends doubted her innocence, making her feel utterly isolated.
“I distanced myself from friends because even they found it hard to believe me. At some point, I felt like giving up on life entirely.”
The weight of the accusations became so unbearable that she even contemplated suicide.
“I sincerely felt like ending it all because I couldn’t find any purpose in my existence,” she revealed through her tears.
Concerned about her mental health, some family members took away her phone to prevent her from reading hurtful comments on social media.
“They didn’t want me to be exposed to the negativity online, so they took my phone and advised me to stay off social media for a while,” she said.
Despite the challenges, Maame Serwaa has found strength in her resilience and remains committed to moving forward with her career and personal growth.
The actress’s emotional revelations shed light on the dangers of false accusations, the mental health struggles of public figures, and the need for empathy in dealing with grief.
