Parliament Approves Dr. Omane Boamah as Minister-Designate for Defence

Ghana’s Parliament has approved the nomination of Dr. Edward Omane Boamah as Minister-Designate for Defence following a debate and adoption of the ninth report of the Appointments Committee.

Although the committee unanimously recommended his approval, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin raised concerns over the conduct of the committee’s clerk, alleging the omission of key submissions from the nominee in the report.

Speaker Alban Bagbin, however, condemned the criticism, urging the use of proper channels to address such concerns.
