VIDEO: Many youth in Ablekuma West Constituency steal due to unemployment- NDC PC

Rev. Kwaku Addo, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the Ablekuma West Constituency, has urged the government to give employment creation in the nation top priority.

In an interview with Puretvonline.com, he clarified that theft is on the rise in the Ablekuma constituency as a result of unemployment.

Rev. Addo said that having work will protect the nation’s future human resources from vices like these.

Even though he has placed some of the youths in school and provided them with handicraft training, Rev. Addo stated that many of them still rely on street thievery to make ends meet. He feels that if elected as the constituency’s member of parliament, he will be able to accomplish more.

“Just recently, I was in my room and I realised someone was opening my window. By the time I realised my wife’s handbag had been picked, the person only picked up the GHC100 in the bag and left the bag at the back of the window.”

“You could clearly see that these are not people who are hardened criminals but only do that to survive,” he stated.

If voters gave him the chance to serve, he pledged to address the constituency’s unemployment issues.
