Ntim Fordjour Spreading Falsehoods Over ‘Suspicious Aircraft’ Saga- Kwakye Ofosu

The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has accused Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, of deliberately spreading falsehoods regarding allegations of suspicious aircraft landing at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

Ofosu’s remarks follow Fordjour’s demand for an urgent security briefing on two aircraft—AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B—which he alleged had transported cocaine and cash into Ghana. The allegations led President John Dramani Mahama to order a formal investigation into the matter.

However, speaking on Thursday, April 3, 2025, Ofosu claimed that Fordjour has since distanced himself from his earlier statements, suggesting that he was only speaking on behalf of a parliamentary committee rather than expressing personal views.

“Because he knew he was peddling total falsehoods and lies, he now claims after being invited to assist with investigations that he was only speaking on behalf of the committee and not personally. Due to that, he says he is unable to cooperate with the security agencies,” Ofosu stated.

The minister dismissed Fordjour’s claims as baseless, asserting that they were intended to undermine public confidence in the government.

“The facts as they exist are completely different from the claims he made. His allegations were purely an attempt to deceive the public and create doubts about this government’s credibility,” Ofosu added.

The controversy over the alleged suspicious flights continues to generate debate, with security agencies now tasked with determining the accuracy of Fordjour’s claims.
