The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been heavily criticised following the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), leading to mounting frustration among fans and sports stakeholders.

With widespread concerns over financial mismanagement and lack of accountability, Mahama reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to revamp the sector and ensure that funds allocated to sports are used efficiently.

His government also plans to enhance sports infrastructure to support talent development and improve Ghana’s competitiveness on the global stage.

“Government is committed to refurbishing existing sports stadia and constructing more youth resource centres,” Mahama stated, underscoring the importance of nurturing young athletes and restoring Ghana’s sports legacy.

His announcement has reignited discussions on the future of sports in the country, with many eager to see the tangible reforms that will follow his pledge.
