The National Identification Authority (NIA) has reminded Ghanaians that first-time issuance of the Ghana Card remains free at its 276 operational district offices across the country.
However, individuals opting to register at Premium Centres will be required to pay fees, as approved by Parliament in 2023. This policy aims to provide a streamlined and efficient registration process while ensuring transparency in service charges.
The Ghana Card is a key national identification document that facilitates access to government services, financial transactions, and other essential activities.
