National Service Cancels June Online Registration, Fresh Exercise Begins October 8

The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced that online registration for the 2025/2026 national service year will reopen on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and close on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, following the annulment of all previous registrations completed in June this year.

This decision comes after President John Dramani Mahama directed the NSA to undertake a comprehensive technical and forensic audit of the Central Service Management Platform (CSMP). The audit exposed significant shortcomings in the platform’s performance and data integrity, prompting the government to order the development of a new, more robust digital system to guarantee transparency, security, and real-time verification.

In a statement, the NSA confirmed that all earlier registrations have been declared “null and void”, citing discrepancies — including age irregularities — that were detected during the audit.

“All previous registrations from June 2025 have been declared null and void. Every prospective service person must re-register on the new platform,” the statement read.

The Authority assured that legitimate registrants from the June exercise will receive refunds of their service fees.

The NSA disclosed that step-by-step guidelines for the registration process will be made available on its new website, www.gnsa.gov.gh, from Tuesday, October 7, 2025, ahead of the reopening date.

The new platform is part of a broader digital transformation initiative aimed at improving operational efficiency and closing loopholes that have enabled fraud in previous service years.

As part of the reforms, the NSA announced the rollout of stringent IT measures and internal controls designed to curb payroll fraud and guarantee prompt payment of allowances.

The Authority is collaborating with the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to strengthen financial oversight and will conduct periodic efficiency checks to maintain system integrity.

All national service personnel are expected to report to their assigned stations on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The official start date for the service year is Monday, November 3, 2025.

The NSA urged all prospective personnel to adhere strictly to the new registration timeline, emphasising that the new measures are intended to restore trust and efficiency in the national service deployment process.
