Let’s approach our electoral process with commitment and thoughtfulness- Bono East Regional Minister

The Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Kwasi Adu-Gyan has urged Ghanaians to approach electoral process with thoughtfulness, responsibility and commitment to democratic values as we prepare to go to the December 7 election.

His statement comes after some individuals lost their lives and others injured during the 2020 election.

Speaking on the Independence Day at Ohene Ameyaw Park at Techiman in the Bono East region, he said the Bono East Region was in the air waves during the 2020 elections on a very disturbing news. This was due to the melee which ensued during the collation of the election results in the Techiman South Constituency that led to the death of two persons and many injured.

According to him, it is unfortunate such an incident happened in the region as he plead with the people not to allow such to happen again during elections.

“Not even a drop of blood should be shed in our peaceful Region due to electioneering activities and violence. Let us stay positive and respectful” he added.

Hon. Kwasi Adu-Gyan encourage Ghanaians to engage in constructive conversations with those who have different opinions and avoid spreading hate and division.

*We must all be committed to the promotion of tolerance and respect, rather than resorting to violence or hostility to ensure a violence free election on 7th December, 2024″, he emphasized.

He also called on stakeholders to work together to assure the consolidation of Ghanaian democracy and help to maintain our pride of place on the continent as a model of democracy in Africa.
