Hand over reconstruction of Sempe School for timely completion – Sempe Mantse to govt

In order to guarantee the completion of the Sempe Primary School’s reconstruction, the Mankralo of the Ga State, Nii Adote Otintor II, has begged the government to turn the project over to the traditional authority.

In an effort to eliminate the school shift system in the Greater Accra metropolis, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), led by Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, began building the millennium schools.

The Accra Sempe School was to be rebuilt as a state-of-the-art, multi-story educational complex by the AMA using funds it had raised domestically, but after the previous government left office, the project was abandoned.

The Sempe Mantse, speaking to the media, insisted that the government turn the project up to the traditional authorities to guarantee its completion.

“Alfred Oko Vanderpuije of the NDC led the government in initiating the Accra Sempe School project. There has been no progress on the project since the NPP took office. Academic activities were disrupted when the pupils were moved to a temporary shed prior to the start of construction.

Since the school is located just next to my castle, I do receive a lot of complaints from the locals asking me to handle the matter as a traditional leader. I’m calling on the government to give me the project so I can finish it.

Additionally, he chastised Elizabeth Kwatsoe Sackey, the mayor of Accra, for neglecting to consult traditional authority on projects being undertaken in the Ga Traditional Area.

“The Ga Traditional Area’s traditional authorities have never been involved in a project that the mayor of Accra has undertaken. There has been talk of a head porters’ hostel at Agbogboloshie, but we don’t yet know who is in charge of it.

But we learned that the AMA has given the developer all of the permissions. Since neither mayor nor regional minister possesses land for projects, it is necessary for the land custodians to be involved in these kinds of activities
