The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has officially terminated its revenue assurance contract with Evatex Logistics Limited, bringing an end to a contentious agreement that has been the subject of intense public scrutiny and investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
In a letter dated July 28, 2025, GACL Managing Director Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare communicated the decision to Evatex, stating that the contract, signed on December 4, 2024, would be terminated effective August 27, 2025. The move comes after an internal audit and several months of operation revealed no evidence of revenue concealment in the cargo section of Kotoka International Airport, where Evatex had been deployed.
According to the termination clause in the contract, either party could end the agreement without cause by giving one month’s written notice. GACL has since instructed the company to demobilise and vacate the premises by the termination date.

“Hence, effective the 27th of August 2025, the agreement executed on the 4th of December 2024, shall cease to have effect and shall be considered as terminated by GACL. You are therefore required to use this notice period to demobilise and leave the premises of Kotoka International Airport on or before the 27th of August 2025,” the letter read.
Evatex was engaged to carry out revenue assurance services, with a compensation clause that entitled the firm to 15% of any concealed revenue it discovered and helped recover. However, the GACL audit, commissioned in June 2024, found no instances of revenue undercutting or concealment. Consequently, GACL has not made any payments to Evatex since the contract commenced.
The contract has become a flashpoint in an ongoing investigation led by the OSP, which is probing potential procurement breaches and conflict of interest concerns surrounding the deal. Evatex is reportedly affiliated with Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML), a company at the centre of similar controversies.
The probe has already led to the arrest and subsequent release of former GACL Board Chairman Paul Adom-Otchere, who is under investigation for allegedly approving the contract without full board consent.
