The headteacher of Anyimaye M/A Primary School in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region, James Nuamah, has issued a passionate appeal to government and education stakeholders to address the worsening infrastructure challenges facing the school.
Speaking during the school’s first-ever Speech and Prize Giving Day and Graduation ceremony, Mr. Nuamah said broken doors and windows in classrooms have left pupils exposed to severe weather and frequent distractions, severely undermining academic work.
“Our classroom conditions are deplorable. Effective teaching and learning is being compromised daily. The children deserve better,” he said.

He also bemoaned the complete lack of ICT resources, pointing out that the school does not own a single computer, making it nearly impossible to comply with the digital literacy components of Ghana’s basic education curriculum.
“The broken classroom structures and absence of ICT tools continue to hinder quality education delivery here,” Mr. Nuamah stressed.
Supporting the headteacher’s call, Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman Yaw Agye commended Mr. Nuamah for his dedication to uplifting the school since assuming office. He called for broader support from both the government and the local community.
“He has made us realise that we cannot wait on government alone. As a community, we must also contribute to building an ICT lab and improving the school’s infrastructure,” Mr. Agye added.
The school is now exploring local fundraising efforts to support infrastructure upgrades and equip pupils with the tools needed for quality education in a digital era.
