Ato Forson’s trial: AG has committed a crime and has no integrity – Sammy Gyamfi tells AG [ADUIO]

Sammy Gyamfi, the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s national communications officer, claimed that Godfred Dame, the attorney general, had no integrity and had committed a crime.

His remarks follow on May 23 when Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the ongoing trial over the procurement of ambulances, claimed in court that the AG had frequently attempted to convince him to falsely accuse Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the former Deputy Finance Minister and minority leader.

Responding to this on Adom FM morning show Dwaso Nsem monitored by Puretvonline.com on Friday, May 24, 2024, Mr. Gyamfi stated that the NDC will shortly provide proof for the third accused’s allegations in the ongoing ambulance procurement trial.

According to him, the NDC will also petition the General Legal Counsel to sanction Godfred Dame for unprofessional conduct.

“You have no integrity and a bad mind. We have evidence of secret meetings between the AG and the third accused. You have committed a crime. At the right time, we will petition the legal counsel for him to be sanctioned.

He continued that. “We have explained time and again why we believe that Hon. Ato Forson is innocent and that this case is needless. The Minority Leader has opened his case and closed it. Currently, the third accused is being cross-examined by lawyers for the Minority Leader, who is the first accused.

“We were all present to witness the proceedings, but we were taken aback when the third accused revealed to the court during cross-examination that the Honourable Attorney General has been corresponding with him, phoning him, and having face-to-face meetings,” he added.
