Akufo-Addo and Kufuor Reunite During Easter

In a gesture that warmed hearts across the nation, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo spent part of his Easter in the company of his predecessor and mentor, former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Taking to Facebook on Saturday, April 19, Akufo-Addo shared a photo and message reflecting on the special visit. He described the moment as joyful and inspiring, highlighting Kufuor’s ever-cheerful and spirited demeanour.

Referring to Kufuor as his “boss”, Akufo-Addo expressed deep admiration and respect for the statesman, under whom he served as attorney general and later as foreign minister. The affectionate term signalled not only a personal bond but also a public acknowledgement of the pivotal role Kufuor played in shaping his political career.

“This Easter, I was delighted to spend time with my boss, former President John Agyekum Kufuor. He remains ever cheerful and highly spirited. A true blessing to our nation,” Akufo-Addo wrote.

The reunion, shared during one of the holiest periods on the Christian calendar, has been widely praised by Ghanaians as a symbol of continuity, unity, and mutual respect among leaders who have steered Ghana through different chapters of the Fourth Republic.

As the Easter season calls for reflection, renewal, and reconciliation, the image of these two former presidents together served as a poignant example of Ghanaian statesmanship and camaraderie.
