David Asamoah appointed acting ECG Managing Director

David Asamoah has been appointed as the acting Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), following the resignation of Samuel Dubik Mahama on Wednesday, September 25.

Prior to this role, Asamoah served as the Deputy Managing Director in charge of Commercial Services.

The appointment was made by the ECG Board Chairman, Alexander Afenyo Markin, marking a swift transition in leadership for the utility company.

Asamoah brings a wealth of experience from his time with ECG, where he previously held the position of Sectional Manager of Revenue, responsible for Technical Investigation.

He has gained recognition for his ability to manage complex cases, including testifying in court against companies involved in illegal power connections. His expertise in revenue management and operational efficiency is expected to guide ECG through its current challenges.

With his new role, Asamoah will be tasked with navigating the company’s ongoing financial and operational hurdles while ensuring stability in Ghana’s power distribution sector.
