EC provides guidelines for replacement of Voter ID Cards

Voter ID card replacement is set to occur between Thursday, May 30, 2024, and Friday, June 14, 2024, according to the Electoral Commission.

The goal of this project is to make sure that, in time for the next elections, every eligible voter has their identity card.

The Commission has instituted a payment system that charges applicants a fee of ten Ghana cedis (GHc 10.00) in an effort to expedite the replacement process.

The convenient way to make the payment is by using the short code 2221067# for mobile money.

In order to speed up the processing of the replacement card, applicants will receive a reference code as evidence of payment once the payment has been completed.

This code is essential since you have to give it to the district officer in order to request a replacement voter ID card.

The Commission underlines that only those who have misplaced their voter ID cards are eligible for this replacement service.

It has been clearly stated by the Commission that those who still have their ID cards but would like to update or modify the information on them will not be qualified for this replacement procedure.
