GIADEC CEO Denies Selling VALCO Lands
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC), Reindorf Twumasi Ankrah, has denied claims that he is selling lands belonging to the Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO).
The denial comes after some employees of the Tema-based aluminium smelter alleged that Mr Twumasi Ankrah has been disposing of VALCO lands and called for his resignation, accusing him of mismanagement.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s Face to Face with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Tuesday, February 10, the GIADEC CEO described the allegations as “a complete falsehood.”

“If anybody says I have sold VALCO lands, I don’t even have their land documents,” he said, rejecting the claims outright.
He also dismissed accusations from the Local Union Chairman of VALCO, Samuel Tetteh Agyeman, that he does not heed advice, describing them as unfounded.
The union has petitioned the president to remove Mr Twumasi Ankrah, asserting that he is unfit to lead the corporation. The CEO, however, insisted that the allegations are baseless and reiterated his commitment to resolving the challenges facing VALCO.
