One Suspect Arrested Over Police Recruitment Scam- Interior Minister Confirms

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has confirmed the arrest of an individual suspected of fraudulently selling recruitment slots into the security services.

The announcement came during the minister’s visit to selected police recruitment screening centres in Accra on Monday, January 12.

He highlighted that selection into the security services will be strictly merit-based, with no room for favouritism or illegal transactions.

“This usual practice, where people sit in the comfort of their homes, avoiding the proper process, is a thing of the past. Under the leadership of President John Mahama, we will not tolerate it.

“Those deceiving people online should be careful and not let anyone mislead them. Over the weekend, we arrested one person for this, and he is currently in police custody. We are watching with an eagle eye,” the minister said.

Meanwhile, at Damongo Senior High School in the Savannah Region, a total of 238 graduate applicants are expected to undergo screening on Day One, which includes documentation checks and body selection.
