56% Of Ghanaians Believe Standard Of Living Has Improved Better Than Last Year- Global InfoAnalytics

56% of Ghanaians believe the standard of living has improved better than last year, according to a new national tracking poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics, signalling growing optimism among citizens amid the rollout of the 2026 national budget.

The survey, released on Monday, December 29, revealed that more than half of respondents believe their living conditions are better than they were a year ago. While 56 per cent reported an improvement, 27 per cent said their standard of living has remained unchanged. Only 12 per cent indicated a decline, with the remaining 5 per cent expressing no opinion.

Looking ahead, optimism remains strong, as 70 per cent of voters expressed confidence that their standard of living will further improve in 2026. In contrast, 18 per cent said they were pessimistic about future economic conditions.

The poll also assessed public reaction to the 2026 budget presented by Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson. Nearly two-thirds of respondents, representing 66 per cent, said they are satisfied with the budget, while 18 per cent expressed dissatisfaction. Another 16 per cent described their position as neutral.

Beyond economic conditions, the survey highlighted perceptions of governance and accountability. About 56 percent of respondents believe corruption in the country has improved, while 60 percent feel the government is doing enough to combat it.

On the issue of illegal mining, commonly referred to as galamsey, 47 per cent of respondents said the situation has not worsened under the Mahama administration. This sentiment was echoed by 43 per cent of respondents in mining regions, where the impact of galamsey is often most pronounced.

Overall, the findings suggest that current economic policies, coupled with governance and anti-corruption efforts, are resonating with a majority of Ghanaians and reinforcing confidence in the country’s economic direction.
