Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohunu has been appointed as the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP) by President John Dramani Mahama.
The announcement was made in a media advisory issued by presidential spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu on March 13.
“President John Dramani Mahama has, in accordance with Articles 91 and 202 of the 1992 Constitution and in consultation with the Council of State, appointed Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohunu as the Inspector-General of Police,” the statement read.

COP Yohunu, a seasoned police officer with forty years of service, is expected to spearhead efforts to modernise and transform the Ghana Police Service.
