Court Orders Public Notice Service on Annoh-Dompreh

A Koforidua High Court has ordered a substituted service on Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam Adoagyiri, after multiple failed attempts to serve him with a writ of summons.

The case, filed by National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate Fummey Selorm Philibert, challenges the Electoral Commission’s (EC) declaration of Annoh-Dompreh as the MP-elect for Nsawam Adoagyiri in the 2024 elections.

Despite an earlier court directive for all possible means to be used in serving Annoh-Dompreh, neither he nor any EC officials from the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency appeared in court on January 23, 2025.

In response, Presiding Judge His Lordship Justice George Krofa Addae granted an order for the summons to be publicly disseminated across multiple platforms, including:

  • The Nsawam Adoagyiri High Court, Magistrate Court, and Circuit Court
  • Community radio station Fawe FM, with announcements aired three times
  • Five information centres in the constituency
  • Three major public notice boards
  • The New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency office
  • Annoh-Dompreh’s official residence

Following the ruling, NDC Constituency Secretary Noah Agbeko Dumenya accused Annoh-Dompreh of deliberately dodging legal proceedings, stating:

“No matter how hard he tries to evade justice, the truth will come out. The people of Nsawam Adoagyiri deserve fairness in this election dispute.”

The court has adjourned the case to March 14, 2025, when further proceedings will take place.

With legal pressure mounting, all eyes will be on whether Annoh-Dompreh will respond or continue to avoid the case—a move that could have significant political and legal consequences.
