Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah Appointed First Deputy Majority Whip
Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, the Member of Parliament for the Ada Constituency, has been named the First Deputy Whip of the Majority Caucus in Parliament.
She joins a restructured leadership team, which includes Mahama Ayariga, MP for Bawku Central, as Majority Leader; George Ricketts-Hagan, MP for Cape Coast South, as Deputy Majority Leader; Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, MP for South Dayi, as Majority Chief Whip; and Richard Acheampong, MP for Bia East, as Second Deputy Majority Whip.
The appointments aim to bolster the Majority’s leadership structure as they advance their legislative and governance agenda.
Born on November 3, 1967, in Big Ada, Greater Accra Region, Cudjoe-Ghansah is a seasoned politician with an extensive career in public service.
She has served as the Minister of State in charge of Social and Allied Institutions and has represented the Ada Constituency in Parliament since 2016, securing an impressive 80.42% of the vote in her first election.
Her educational background includes a diploma in stenographership from the Royal Academy of Accounting in Accra and a certificate in radio and TV presentation from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
Cudjoe-Ghansah has also held significant roles in Parliament, serving on committees for Gender and Children, as well as Foreign Affairs. In 2013, she was appointed Minister of State by President John Dramani Mahama.
Throughout her career, she has championed community development, donating educational resources to schools and civil service offices within her constituency.
She has also worked on initiatives with international partners, such as engaging with the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana to discuss children’s health and well-being.
Despite facing controversies, including accusations of bribery, she was cleared of wrongdoing after investigations.
A devout Christian, Cudjoe-Ghansah is married and a mother of six. Her commitment to promoting community development and religious harmony has been a hallmark of her political career.
