A fire that broke out at the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project was successfully contained by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Tuesday evening.
The blaze, which began around 5:52 PM, consumed five 40-foot containers used as offices for the project.
However, thanks to the swift response of firefighters from the Sege and Devtraco Fire Stations, the fire was brought under control after over three hours of intense firefighting.
The flames were fully extinguished by 9 PM.
Though the containers and their contents were destroyed, the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to nearby housing units, ensuring no casualties.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are expected to begin soon. The GNFS has been praised for its prompt response, which prevented a more serious disaster.
Further updates will be provided as authorities work to determine the fire’s origin.
