WAEC secures additional GH₵35 million from education ministry for 2024 WASSCE results
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has received an additional GH₵35 million from the Ministry of Education to expedite the processing of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates.
In a statement dated December 27, WAEC confirmed the funds were disbursed on December 25. The Council highlighted that the allocation would facilitate critical processes such as the scanning of objective answer sheets and the finalisation of results.
WAEC assured stakeholders of its commitment to releasing the results by the end of December. However, the Council appealed to the Ministry to address outstanding financial obligations to enable the payment of personnel, including supervisors, invigilators, script checkers, and suppliers of examination materials.
In its statement, WAEC expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their support during the examination period and extended its best wishes for the festive season.
The Council emphasised its unwavering dedication to fulfilling its responsibilities despite the financial challenges it faces.
This development brings hope to the thousands of candidates and their families eagerly awaiting the release of their results, which are pivotal for further educational pursuits and career planning.
