VIDEO: The blame game will destroy us- Bawumia warns NPP members

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 presidential candidate, has cautioned party members against engaging in blame games following their defeat in the recent general elections.

He stressed that internal divisions and accusations could jeopardise the party’s prospects for a comeback in 2028.

Addressing a gathering of party faithful at his residence, Dr. Bawumia called for unity and reflection instead of recriminations.

The meeting, attended by hundreds of supporters, served as a platform to deliberate on the party’s path forward.

“This is not the time for a blame game,” Dr. Bawumia emphasized. “The blame game will destroy us. This is not the time to level accusations and fight each other. It’s a time for healing, introspection, and building a stronger bond as a party.”

The former vice president underscored the importance of unity in achieving the party’s long-term goals, urging members to reflect on their actions and words.

“Unity is key to achieving our goals. We must come together as one body with one common purpose to move forward,” he stated.

Dr. Bawumia also expressed his deep appreciation to the rank and file of the NPP for their support during the campaign and the challenging aftermath of the elections.

“I am humbled by your messages of encouragement and solidarity. Let us stay strong and keep the faith. Our journey is not over; we will rise again,” he assured.

Many of the party supporters who visited him urged Dr. Bawumia to prepare to lead the party into the 2028 elections, reaffirming their confidence in his leadership.

Dr. Bawumia’s message comes at a critical time for the NPP as it seeks to regroup and strategise after the electoral loss. His emphasis on unity and introspection highlights the need for the party to remain cohesive in its pursuit of a political resurgence.
