VIDEO: Kafui Amegah threatens to ‘kick out’ Sammy Awuku over betrayal and neglect

Kafui Amegah, a businessman and member of the NPP national communication team, has issued a stark warning to National Lotteries Authority (NLA) CEO Sammy Awuku, vowing to “kick him out” of his office should Awuku seek his support after a potential NPP loss in the 2024 elections.

Amegah’s outburst stems from what he sees as Awuku’s betrayal, despite his extensive support for Awuku during his time as the NPP’s National Youth Organiser in 2016.

Kafui Amegah stated that Sammy Awuku abandoned him after attaining his current position in 2016, ignoring his efforts and acting as if he were a stranger. “He behaves like he doesn’t even know me,” Amegah asserted.

Amegah’s statements follow a violent clash on October 27, 2024, between supporters of Agona West MP Cynthia Maaley Morrison, who is now running as an independent candidate, and the NPP’s official parliamentary candidate, Chris Arthur. The incident left one person with gunshot wounds and several others injured, sparking widespread concern and revealing deeper rifts within the party.

Speaking on this, Amegah shared empathy for Morrison’s decision to go independent and encouraged her to reconsider. Reflecting on his own political journey, he revealed similar experiences in the Atiwa East constituency, where he claims party officials actively undermined his campaign.

Undeterred, he has remained committed to supporting fellow NPP members, citing how he printed materials and gave financial assistance to Hon. Adwoa Safo’s campaign, despite what he describes as the party’s failure to treat loyalists fairly.

KafuI Amegah further criticised individuals like Awuku, who, he believes, have used their short time in office to gain wealth and behave dismissively towards their supporters. Yet despite his grievances, Amegah emphasised that his loyalty to the NPP remains intact, stating, “Even through unfair treatment, I’m still here. My commitment to this party hasn’t changed.”

He made these statements on Hot FM’s Morning Show on Monday, October 28, 2024, when he appeared on the show as a panellist.
