A devastating fire outbreak at Dagomba Line in Asawase, a suburb of Kumasi, has claimed the life of a three-year-old boy, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
According to eyewitnesses, the tragic incident occurred while the young boy was taking a nap with his 12-year-old sister in their wooden shelter.
The sister managed to escape the inferno but was unable to wake her younger brother in time.
The fire, which residents believe may have been caused by a faulty electrical connection, quickly engulfed the wooden structure. Efforts by neighbours to control the blaze proved futile due to the intensity of the flames. By the time the fire was extinguished, the structure and its contents were completely destroyed.
The charred remains of the boy were retrieved from the debris and have since been buried in accordance with local customs.
