Kofi Akpaloo, the presidential aspirant for the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) in the upcoming 2024 general elections, has made a surprising statement regarding his daughter’s future marriage.
Akpaloo stated that any man wishing to marry his daughter must first impregnate her.
This condition, he explained, is to ensure that his daughter does not face difficulties having children after marriage.
In an interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM, Akpaloo elaborated on his stance, saying, “I don’t want her to face stress over having babies after getting married. The issue might not be her fault. In fact, I hope my daughter has a child before they even marry.”
He believes that this approach will help avoid the societal pressure and blame that could fall on his daughter if a couple struggles to have children after marriage.
Despite efforts by the host to persuade him otherwise, Akpaloo remained firm in his decision.
He emphasised that he would reject any suitor who did not meet this condition. This unconventional view has sparked conversations and mixed reactions among Ghanaians, with many questioning his approach to family and marriage.
Akpaloo’s comments have added a unique dimension to his public image as he campaigns for the presidency, illustrating his views on personal and societal issues. As the 2024 elections approach, it remains to be seen how his statements will impact his political standing and voter support.
