The truck drivers who work at the port of Tema have announced that they will go on strike starting from today Monday, May 6, 2024.
The drivers are demonstrating against a number of issues, such as unjustified imprisonment, harassment by uniformed staff, and attacks by armed bandits. To address these issues, they are demanding that action be taken right now.
The drivers announced in a formal notification that starting on Monday, May 6, there will be no trucks operating at the ports in Ghana.
In addition, they have declared that a press conference will be held at the JAPTU Ghana Secretariat, which is situated at the Tema Port, on the same day.

Effective Monday 6th May 2024 NO TRUCK MOVES at the ports of Ghana.
