Dancehall star Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has described his counterpart Charles Nii Armah, also known as Shatta Wale, as a “settings man” following Shatta’s surprising gesture of gifting MC Portfolio GHC5000 live on air.
The unexpected gift left MC Portfolio visibly stunned, with his reaction ranging from shock and confusion to excitement. While he initially questioned the motive behind Shatta Wale’s generosity, Portfolio ultimately accepted the cash.
The incident has sparked conversations about the dynamic between Stonebwoy and MC Portfolio, especially in light of past allegations of betrayal and Stonebwoy’s history of distancing himself from individuals like Kelvynbwoy under similar circumstances.
However, this time, Stonebwoy’s response took a different turn.
Instead of publicly criticising MC Portfolio or severing ties with him, as some fans expected, Stonebwoy turned his attention to Shatta Wale, accusing him of using the gift to manipulate and deceive Portfolio.
In an interview with Ike De Unpredictable on Angel FM in Kumasi, Stonebwoy remarked:
“Don’t you know the tricks of this man? The trickster? The settings man. He set him (Portfolio) up with GHC5000. He’s keeping tonnes of GHC5 notes in his room, so he thinks he has money.”
Stonebwoy further questioned the significance of the amount, stating:
“He (Shatta) met him and wanted to intimidate him with GHC5 notes. Ask him, pointing to MC Portfolio, how many times I’ve promised to give him stuff. How much is GHC5000? By God’s grace, we have more than GHC5000 to offer.”
Stonebwoy dismissed any notions of fear in addressing the matter, adding, “Do you think we are actually scared to speak up?”
MC Portfolio, who was present in the studio during the interview, remained silent throughout the discussion, adding an air of tension to the exchange.
