Professor Agyeman-Duah praises Nana Kwame Bediako’s 12-pillar manifesto as a fresh perspective for Ghana

Governance analyst Professor Baffour Agyeman-Duah has lauded the 12-pillar manifesto presented by Nana Kwame Bediako, leader of the New Force movement, describing it as a refreshing and innovative approach to Ghana’s political and developmental landscape.

Nana Kwame Bediako, a newcomer to Ghanaian politics, has recently launched his presidential bid under the New Force banner and plans to contest the upcoming December 7, 2024, presidential election as an independent candidate.

On September 1, 2024, Bediako unveiled his manifesto, “12 Pillars of Economic Freedom,” which lays out his comprehensive vision for bringing prosperity, creating opportunities, and ensuring a brighter future for all Ghanaians.

The manifesto has been characterised by Bediako as a visionary document, detailing a strategic plan to drive economic growth and sustainable development in Ghana.

Bediako is currently awaiting confirmation from the Electoral Commission to be recognised as a qualified candidate, with the New Force movement serving as the platform to rally support for his presidential ambitions.

During an interview on Citi FM on September 2, 2024, Professor Agyeman-Duah expressed his admiration for Bediako’s manifesto, stating, “This is the first time I am hearing some very refreshing ideas about our politics.”

He highlighted Bediako’s innovative approach to integrating Ghana’s development with broader African interests as particularly noteworthy.

The governance analyst also commended Bediako’s proposal to streamline the government by operating with only 12 ministries, a move he believes could enhance efficiency and focus. “For me, I was impressed with his ideas,” Professor Agyeman-Duah remarked, emphasising the potential impact of Bediako’s vision on the future governance of Ghana.

Nana Kwame Bediako’s entry into the political scene and his unique perspective on governance have sparked interest and discussions, positioning him as a distinctive voice in Ghana’s upcoming presidential race.
