Prime Harmony Foundation, a non-governmental organisation committed to improving education in rural communities, has donated educational materials to four disadvantaged schools in the Central Region.
The beneficiary schools include Presbyterian Basic School, Asiam Catholic, Denkyira D/A Basic School, and Denkyira Methodist in the Ajumako-Anyam District.
This donation was made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors and donors who align with the foundation’s mission to enhance educational opportunities for children in underprivileged areas. The schools received essential supplies, including textbooks, writing materials, pens, mathematical sets, and other learning aids.
As part of the event, the foundation also organised a health screening for students and community residents, further highlighting its commitment to the overall welfare of the community.
Isaac Qwesi Bondzie, the CEO of Prime Harmony Foundation, explained that the donation is part of the foundation’s humanitarian efforts to support education in the region.
“We budgeted for over 800 exercise books and 200 healthcare tests for the pupils,” Bondzie said. “While the government is doing its best to improve the educational system, we believe our contribution will inspire these children to pursue their studies more seriously.”
Bondzie acknowledged that many parents in these communities struggle to provide their children with basic school supplies. “We understand that we cannot meet every need, but this small gesture is our way of assisting these children in their learning journey,” he stated.
He encouraged the students to take their education seriously and urged teachers to offer additional support to the most needy students, ensuring they stay in school and continue to learn.
In addition to distributing educational materials, the foundation provided educational sessions on health, focussing on recognising malaria symptoms and the importance of oral hygiene.
These efforts underscore the foundation’s holistic approach to community development, not just in education but also in promoting health and well-being.
Prime Harmony Foundation’s work extends beyond providing school supplies; the organisation is dedicated to supporting children who face difficult circumstances and social exclusion by striving to create equal opportunities for them.
The Headmaster of Denkyira Presbyterian Basic School, Samuel Ansah, expressed deep gratitude for the foundation’s support.
He called on other individuals, NGOs, and the government to join in supporting the schools within the Ajumako-Anyam District, emphasising the impact such assistance has on the community’s educational development.
