President-elect Mahama strengthens regional ties with key diplomatic visits

President-elect John Dramani Mahama has concluded a significant diplomatic tour of Equatorial Guinea, Guinea Bissau, and Gabon, emphasising his commitment to building robust relationships with Ghana’s neighbours and fostering regional development.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Mr. Mahama highlighted the productive nature of his meetings with the leaders of the three nations.

He described the discussions as reaffirming shared values and aspirations for progress across the continent.

“Our conversations touched on exploring opportunities for collaboration in trade, security, and sustainable development, ensuring that our partnerships benefit not only our nations but the people we serve,” Mr. Mahama stated.

The president-elect underscored his vision for strengthening ties within West Africa and beyond, aiming to drive collective growth and address challenges affecting the youth and vulnerable populations.

“As part of my commitment to fostering strong relationships with our geographical neighbours and friends, I will continue to work both within and outside our subregion towards a brighter, more prosperous future,” he affirmed.
