President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has expressed his gratitude after receiving a delegation of esteemed Gonja chiefs, sent by his father, the Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I, to congratulate him on his victory in the recently concluded elections.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Mahama described the visit as an honour, highlighting the significant role of the Yagbonwura in his journey. “I was honoured to receive a delegation of eminent Gonja chiefs sent by my father, the Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I, to congratulate me on the victory in the just-ended election,” Mahama wrote.
The Yagbonwura, a revered traditional leader, also reiterated his commitment to the development of Ghana, offering his prayers and continued support to the incoming president.
Mahama shared that the Yagbonwura had assured him of his unwavering backing as he prepares to assume the presidency once again, with a promise of ongoing guidance and wise counsel.
