Office of the President Demands Detailed Payroll Information from Government Institutions
The Office of the President has issued a directive to all heads of government institutions, requesting detailed records on staff members added to their payrolls since Saturday, December 7, 2024.
The memo, signed by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, emphasises the government’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in payroll management.
This move forms part of ongoing efforts to address potential irregularities and streamline payroll systems under President John Mahama’s administration.

The directive specifies that the following details must be submitted for each staff member added during the period:
- Full Name
- Designation/Job Title
- Employee Identification Number (if applicable)
- Date of Appointment
- Date Added to Payroll
Heads of institutions have until Friday, January 31, 2025, to provide the requested information.
The directive underlines the critical nature of this initiative, stating, “This information is critical to maintaining transparency and accountability.” It further urges institutions to ensure timely and accurate submissions to avoid scrutiny.
Government institutions facing challenges or seeking clarification have been encouraged to engage with the appropriate channels for assistance.
The directive has been copied to the Vice President, the Secretary to the President, and other key stakeholders, reflecting the high priority placed on payroll integrity.
