The National Democratic Congress (NDC) task force in the Ashanti Region has seized over 3,000 bags of fertiliser allegedly hidden in a warehouse at Asante Akyem Agogo in the Asante Akyem North Municipality.
The task force, led by Nana Prempeh Amankwah, claims the fertilisers were meant for distribution to farmers but had been withheld under suspicious circumstances. The operation was part of the NDC’s “Operations Recover All Loot” (ORAL) initiative in the region.
Speaking to Adom News, Nana Prempeh explained that the team acted on a tip-off that led them to the warehouse where the fertilisers were stored.

“These fertilisers were meant to support farmers, but they were hoarded instead of being distributed. Upon investigation, we located them and ensured they were moved to a safer place,” he said.
The seized fertilisers have since been transported to the Asante Akyem North Municipal Assembly for safekeeping, pending further action.
The police have reportedly begun investigations into the matter to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged hoarding.
However, Nana Prempeh has assured that the NDC will ensure the fertilisers remain under strict security until the next government assumes office.
“We will monitor this closely to prevent any diversion. These resources belong to the people, and we will protect them,” he stated.
The seizure has raised concerns about the fair distribution of resources and transparency in public programs.
The NDC has vowed to continue efforts to recover assets it believes were mismanaged or withheld by the current administration.
