NAPO is Not Arrogant, Says Manso-Nkwanta MP

The Member of Parliament for Manso-Nkwanta, Hon. George Obeng Takyi, has come to the defence of Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), the running mate to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, amid allegations of arrogance.

Speaking on a radio discussion, Hon. Obeng Takyi emphasised that NAPO’s assertive and hardworking nature should not be mistaken for arrogance.

“Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is very assertive and dedicated to his duties. People with such qualities are often misunderstood. Being serious about one’s work does not equate to arrogance,” Hon. Obeng Takyi stated.

This defence follows a public debate on the demeanour of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, with some critics labelling him as arrogant. However, Hon. Obeng Takyi countered these claims by highlighting NAPO’s track record as a former Education and Energy Minister, urging Ghanaians to focus on his contributions and impact rather than negative portrayals.

In a recent radio discussion on Hot FM’s Morning Show monitored by Puretvonline.com, Hon. Obeng Takyi refuted the allegations, asking Ghanaians to trust in NAPO’s capabilities and begin to recognise his achievements. He called on party supporters and the general public not to be swayed by what he described as the opposition’s propaganda.

“Ghanaians and our party footsoldiers should not be misled by the opposition, the NDC. We need to vote massively for the NPP to ensure continuity and progress in the upcoming 2024 presidential election,” Hon. Obeng Takyi urged.

As the political atmosphere intensifies ahead of the elections, the MP’s statement seeks to reinforce confidence in the NPP’s leadership team, emphasising the importance of a thorough evaluation of candidates based on their professional accomplishments and dedication to service.
