MTN MoMo@15: MML educates customers on newly launched MyMoMo App

As part of the MTN MoMo@15 celebrations, Mobile Money Limited (MTN MoMo) has introduced the MyMoMo App, an innovative mobile money platform designed to offer a faster, more secure, and more convenient transaction experience.

The app is now available for download on the Google Play Store, App Store (iOS), and Huawei Store.

During the MoMo@15 live session on MTN’s Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn pages, Herman Odame, Head of APIs and New Business at MTN MoMo, outlined the features of the new app and how it enhances mobile money transactions.

“The *170# code remains effective, but the MyMoMo App provides an even quicker and more streamlined way for users to complete transactions,” Odame explained.

One of the standout features of the MyMoMo App is its enhanced security, utilising biometric authentication such as facial and fingerprint recognition. Odame highlighted that this upgrade significantly improves security while also offering users a seamless way to access their accounts.

“Biometric authentication not only speeds up the process but also makes it virtually impossible for anyone else to access your wallet using a different fingerprint or facial features,” he said.

The app introduces a new QR code payment feature, allowing users to scan and pay instantly. Additionally, customers can now generate PDF documents of transaction statuses and share them directly with online vendors, a valuable tool for those conducting business transactions.

In response to customer feedback, the new app stores statements for up to 90 days, giving users the flexibility to view and print their transaction history as needed. This feature, along with easier bill payments, offers greater accessibility and control over financial activities.

MTN is actively promoting the MyMoMo App as a key part of its customer education efforts. “We encourage our customers to download and explore the new app to experience its enhanced features,” said Odame.

The company is also advising users to uninstall the old MoMo app and replace it with the MyMoMo app to benefit from the latest upgrades.

Assuring users of the app’s security, Odame emphasised that the MyMoMo App is built on MTN’s secure authentication and encryption systems. However, he urged customers to safeguard their PINs to prevent unauthorised access to their wallets.

MTN’s educational outreach for the new app aims to simplify mobile money transactions for all Ghanaians, ensuring that everyone can navigate and benefit from its user-friendly interface. By making these digital services more accessible and secure, MTN is enhancing the overall mobile money experience for its customers.
