International Women’s Day: ASA Savings and Loans Female Workers Inspired for Higher Leadership Positions
Female employees of ASA Savings and Loans have renewed calls for greater opportunities in leadership, urging management to ensure they are considered for high-ranking positions as they become available.
During the company’s International Women’s Day celebration, the women expressed concerns that despite their skills and contributions, many female employees are often overlooked for promotions.

They stressed that it is time for management to actively support women in securing key roles and valuing their input in decision-making processes.
Some employees encouraged their female colleagues to enhance their skills and knowledge, emphasising that preparation is crucial for securing leadership positions—whether within ASA Savings and Loans or in other organisations.
They also called on management to recognise and reward hard-working staff to boost motivation and productivity.
Responding to the concerns, ASA Savings and Loans’ Human Resource Manager, Eunice Boadu, assured employees that the company has already implemented measures to promote gender inclusivity and career advancement for women.

She revealed that of the company’s 1,300 staff members, 600 are loan officers, with an equal split of 300 men and 300 women.
Additionally, 99% of ASA’s 300,000 clients are women, prompting the company to introduce the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative to empower female employees for higher roles.
To support working mothers, she noted that the company provides maternity leave and allows female employees to choose departments that offer flexibility upon their return. Breastfeeding mothers are also granted extra hours to nurse their children without work-related stress.
ASA Savings and Loans CEO, Mohammed Aourongjeb, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to gender balance, stating that management is intentional about creating opportunities for women to showcase their talents.

He emphasised that the company does not tolerate discrimination and will ensure that qualified female employees are given leadership roles based on merit.
“As long as a woman is capable and qualified, she should be given the opportunity. Women play a crucial role in the success of our company, and their contributions must be recognised,” he stated.
To commemorate International Women’s Day, the company also held a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolising their commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
