Ibrahim Daouda, popularly known as Ibrah One, has addressed the long-standing rumors labeling him as a “fraud boy” or “sakawa” practitioner.
The Ghanaian socialite and entrepreneur has often been associated with internet fraud due to his public displays of wealth on social media and in public spaces.
In a recent interview, Ibrah One opened up about his true line of work, stating that he is a forex trader and has never been involved in any form of scamming or fraudulent activities.
“My main work is forex trading. I’ve never scammed anyone before. I don’t even know how to chat with a client. That’s not my field. I’ve never scammed anyone on earth, never,” he emphasized.
Ibrah One acknowledged that his association with individuals involved in fraudulent activities has contributed to the public’s misconception about him. He explained that he has known many of these individuals before they engaged in such activities, and their frequent appearances together in social settings have fueled the rumors.
“Anytime I go to the club, fraud boys come to my table, and we party together. I’ve known them even before they started their fraud, so people started tagging me as a scammer,” he explained.
Despite the challenges that these rumors have posed to his reputation, Ibrah One remains unfazed. He views the misconceptions as obstacles that he is willing to overcome.
“The tag on me is one of the obstacles, but I’m fine. You can’t climb a mountain without experiencing obstacles,” he concluded.
Ibrah One’s clarification aims to set the record straight about his source of wealth and to dissociate himself from illegal activities. He hopes that the public will recognize his legitimate business endeavors and judge him based on facts rather than assumptions.
